At SODELA, we understand that raising a child comes with many challenges — and for refugee families and parents in need, accessing basic baby supplies can be one of the biggest hurdles. That’s why we’re proud to partner with Helping Mamas to bring diapers and essential baby supplies directly to families in our community.
Meeting a Critical Need
Diapers are a basic necessity, yet many families struggle to afford them. A baby can go through 8-12 diapers a day, and the cost adds up quickly. For refugee families who are just getting on their feet, or for parents facing financial hardship, this expense can be overwhelming.
Through our partnership with Helping Mamas, we regularly distribute:
- Diapers in all sizes — from newborn to toddler
- Baby wipes
- Baby formula
- Baby clothing
- Blankets and swaddles
- Bottles and feeding supplies
- Car seats (when available)
- Strollers (when available)
- Other essential baby items
Our Partnership with Helping Mamas
Helping Mamas is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing essential baby supplies to families in need. Through this partnership, SODELA serves as a community distribution point, ensuring that these vital resources reach refugee families and parents throughout Knoxville.
We hold regular distribution events where families can come and receive the supplies they need — no questions asked, no judgment given. We believe every child deserves a healthy start, and every parent deserves support.
Who Can Receive Help?
Our diaper and baby essentials program is available to:
- New mothers — whether first-time moms or experienced parents
- Refugee families with young children
- Expecting mothers preparing for their baby’s arrival
- Parents in need facing financial difficulties
- Grandparents and caregivers raising young children
